Tord Høivik was associated with PRIO as a researcher from 1969 to 1991. He served as Director of PRIO in 1979-80 and again in 1984-86. After leaving PRIO. he taught at the College of Library Science (Statens bibliotek- og informasjonshøgskole) which later became part of OsloMet.
