Thomas Hylland Eriksen (1962–2024) was Professor of Social Anthropology at the University of Oslo. He served as a member of PRIO’s research staff for a year in 1990–91 while completing his PhD dissertation. He served as a member of the editorial committee of Journal of Peace Research from 1992 to 1999 and as a deputy member of PRIO’s Board from 1993 to 1995.
